Short Bio
Laura Lavoie writes humorous, pun-filled picture books. She can also tap dance, tell terribly cheesy jokes, and bake a mean chocolate chip cookie. Laura resides in upstate New York with her husband and daughters. Her debut picture book, VAMPIRE VACATION, was published by Viking Children’s in May, 2022.
Long Bio
Laura Lavoie writes humorous, pun-filled picture books. She can also tap dance, tell terribly cheesy jokes, and bake a mean chocolate chip cookie. A voracious reader since childhood, Laura has been writing her own stories since she could hold a pen. She continues to be a proud book hoarder and firmly believes that stories are a place where magic lives. When she isn’t reading or writing, Laura can usually be found in the kitchen, cooking up something delicious, or playing outside: gardening, hiking, kayaking, or hanging around in trees. Laura’s debut picture book, VAMPIRE VACATION, illustrated by Micah Player, was published by Viking Children’s in May, 2022. She has more picture books on the way in 2023 and 2024. Laura resides in upstate New York with her husband, daughters, two cats, one dog, and several sagging bookshelves.
